Fulse makes 22 commits for Auburn

and Fulse makes 22. Auburn continues to move up the recruiting board.

Tight end Brandon Fulse became the 22nd commitment for Auburn’s Class of 2011 on Thursday, announcing his decision on ESPNU.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder out of Fort Meade, Fla., is a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN.com, and the No. 5 (ESPN), No. 10 (Rivals) and No. 13 (Scout) tight end prospect in the nation.

“It just felt like home. I really felt comfortable around the coaches,“ Fulse said. “I come from a really small community and Auburn is small. So I really adapted to that.“

Fulse also had offers from schools such as Alabama, Florida State, North Carolina and Miami, and chose Auburn over his No. 2 option Tennessee.

He’s the Tigers’ third commit in two days, after Mobile defensive end Devaunte Sigler and running back Tre Mason from Lake Worth, Fla., committed Wednesday.

Fulse’s former high school teammate Onterio McCalebb will be a junior running back for the Tigers next season.

“I have a guy up there that I played with in high school,“ Fulse said. “So when I go up there he can teach me the ropes.“

Auburn can sign 28 players in its Class of 2011, but can only admit 25 by the start of the football season.

Three players Auburn is in the mix for are scheduled to announce their college choices on ESPN on Wednesday’s Signing Day—offensive line Cyrus Kouandjio (8:05 a.m.), Valley High safety Erique Florence (8:15 a.m.) and defensive tackle Gabe Wright (12:40 p.m.).

Kouandjio and Wright are both scheduled to visit Auburn this weekend, starting today.
